When you’re first starting out in Myth of Empires you will probably be hunting for small branches and rubble to craft your first items. After a while you will have to move onto higher tier materials like hardwood and clay. Once you’ve moved on from branches you will start to collect and use hardwood.
Hardwood is a denser, harder to collect type of wood that can only be found at specific trees in Myth of Empires. This guide will show you the best way to get hardwood.
How to Get Hardwood in Myth of Empires
To get hardwood in Myth of Empires you will have to first craft an axe. You can craft any kind of axe to get hardwood, even the basic stone axe. You will have to use the axe to strike a specific type of tree. If you use an axe on the older grey looking trees that are found around the map of Myth of Empires, you will collect hardwood. Check out the image below.
These trees can look very similar to the regular trees found around the map but you will see that these are looking more grey and weathered. All you have to do is walk up to the tree on foot or on your horse and start hitting it. Once you start hacking at the tree you will see that you will start to collect hardwood.
Where to Find Hardwood Trees
In Myth of Empires, the map has a strange way of showing the difficulty. All of the spawn points are at the east side of the map. This is also the easier side. As you gradually make your way to the west of the map the whole game will start to get harder. Animals get stronger, NPC camps will get harder but you will end up finding more resources. This is true for trees as well.
As you move to the wrest you will start to see less regular trees and more of these old hardwood trees. If you keep moving west you are bound to be in a place full of old hardwood trees. A general rule of thumb would be to go with the obvious and explore forest areas in Myth of Empires where lots of trees are exploring. Here you will come across a large amount of Hardwood.
If you want to get more Hardwood out of a tree, you will have to upgrade you tools. Creating an iron axe will allow you to gather a lot more hardwood from every tree you find.
