In Necesse, you will be crafting and surviving in an unforgivable world. As you progress through different bosses of the game, you will be granted newer, stronger tiers of equipment. You will need to access the Deep Caves for certain items such as Tungsten Ore. This guide will show you how to get to the deep caves in necesse.
How to Access the Deep Caves of Necesse
In order to access the deep caves, you will need an item called a Deep Ladder Down. Much like the Ladder Down you’ve probably used to access the regular caves, the deep ladder down will allow you to access the deeper caves system, as the name suggests.
You can read below how to unlock and acquire a Deep Ladder Down. Once you have your Deep Ladder Down, simply place it on any free surface tile in the game. Like the regular ladder down, there will be a different type of cave for each biome you decide to travel to. At the time of writing there are four deep caves you can explore, found in their respective biomes. These are; Deep Forest Cave, Deep Snow Cave, Deep Swamp Cave and Deep Desert Cave.
Using the Deep Ladder Down
Simply equip a Deep Ladder Down from your inventory. Now, point your mouse over a free tile on the surface. You might think you would need to place it down inside a regular cave to get deeper, but this is not the case. Simply place it down anywhere. It is safe to do so on your own personal island. Nothing can climb the ladder.
Now that the Deep Ladder Down is placed, simply walk over to is and right-click on it to use it. That’s it. You’ve made it to the Deep Caves!
How to Unlock the Deep Ladder Down
To get to the Deep Caves you will need an item called the Deep Ladder Down. To unlock this item you will need to defeat Necesse’s 6th boss, The Pirate Captain. The Pirate Captain can be found from the very start of the game. You will need to find a Pirate Village island type in order to find him.
Be wary, he is no pushover. He might seem easy enough to begin with but once he takes 10% of his health as damage he will jump into his flying pirate ship and fly around attacking you in it until he is defeated. Not to mention the pirates and birds he spawns during the fight. The best way to defeat his is to box him in with walls as big as the screen as mobs will not spawn as long as the player can see the area.
Once the Pirate Captain is defeated you will be given a deep ladder down immediately and also be able to craft one from the Advanced Workstation using 8 Tungsten Bar.
What is in The Deep Caves?
As you can imagine there are some useful crafting resources found in the deep caves. The most useful here is the Tungsten ore that can be found and crafted into Tungsten bars. Be wary where you step in the deep caves as there is a lot of lava around on the floor. Moving into the lava will cause you to take 25 damage immediately and slowly take more damage as you remain on fire.
In each of the Deep Caves you can find an item that will spawn a boss creature. Item’s like the Ice Crown and the Shadow Gate are examples of this. Ensure you are prepared for battle before you decide to use these items.
