Not a fan of waiting? Me either. The Day Before has finally launched into early access on Steam. As with most survival games, you will be managing a lot of different items in your inventory throughout the game. Inventory management will always play a large role in the game as when you are looting, you will only have a certain amount of space. This guide will show you how to move items quickly, hopefully saving you some time on a rather tedious part of the game.
How to Quickly Transfer Inventory Items with Hotkeys
There are three different ways that you can transfer items between different inventory spaces. I will list those three below with the slowest being first and the other following in suit.
- Clicking and dragging: The slowest way to transfer inventory items is by clicking an item and dragging it into another space in the other inventory.
- Double Clicking: By double-clicking an item with the left mouse button you will also transfer it over to the other inventory. Whether you are transferring items to storage or looting, the item will always go into the other container.
- Right-Click: The absolute fastest way to transfer items in The Day Before is by right-clicking the item. As there aren’t a big list of hotkeys in the game, this can be a good one to know to save time.
Where to Store Items for Savekeeping
One of the earliest methods you have to store items is with Abby in the Storage Room in Woodberry. Find her and talk to her and there is an option to store items. If you have extra items that you really don’t want to lose the next time you leave the safe zone, make sure to leave them with her. This is totally free of charge and acts like a bank for your items.
