So, you’re trekking through the Johto region in Pokémon Infinite Fusion, you’ve conquered Ecruteak City, and now you’re looking to head west to the port city of Olivine. In the original games, this was the next logical step. However, if you’re scratching your head trying to find the path, there’s a very good reason for it.

Can You Get to Olivine City in Pokémon Infinite Fusion?
Let’s get straight to the point: Olivine City is not an accessible location in Pokémon Infinite Fusion through normal gameplay.
Unlike the original Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, the fan-made Infinite Fusion does not include Olivine City, the connecting routes (Route 38 and 39), or Cianwood City. Searching for a path that doesn’t exist can be a frustrating experience, but rest assured, you haven’t missed a hidden path or a special item. The content was intentionally placed elsewhere.
Why Isn’t Olivine City in the Game?
Fan-made games on the scale of Infinite Fusion are massive undertakings. The development team made a decision to streamline the Johto region. Since the primary story-related reasons to visit Olivine and Cianwood were for their gyms, the developers moved those key encounters to a different region to integrate them into the game’s unique progression.
Where to Find Jasmine (The Olivine City Gym Leader)
So, if you can’t go to Olivine, how do you battle Jasmine for the Mineral Badge?
You will find Jasmine later in the game. She and the other missing Johto gym leader, Chuck, have taken a “vacation” to the Sevii Islands. This is the region you will travel to after conquering the Kanto Elite Four. Once you have access to the Sevii Islands, you will be able to find and battle both Jasmine and Chuck to continue your journey.
What About Chuck and the Cianwood City Gym?
Just like Jasmine, Chuck is not in his original location. You will also find him in the Sevii Islands. This means you don’t need to worry about finding the HM for Surf to cross the sea to a non-existent Cianwood City. The key items and progression have been adapted for Infinite Fusion’s world design.
Conclusion: Focusing on the Sevii Islands

While you can’t visit Olivine City, the content you’re looking for is still in the game. Instead of trying to find a blocked path west of Ecruteak, continue with your Kanto and Johto journey. Once you’ve proven yourself as a champion, your path will lead you to the Sevii Islands where Jasmine and Chuck await.
