Building, survival, crafting. These are the three main things that you’ll be doing in Cryofall. Although building up your base may be a lot of fun, you might find you’ve put something in the wrong place. If you feel like you might want to break down something or destroy a wall you’ve come to the right place. I’m going to show you what tool to use to destroy walls and items, and how to make the most of it.
How To Destroy Walls in Cryofall
To destroy walls in Cryofall you are going to need to craft yourself an items called a crowbar. Once you have craft a crowbar, you will be able to equip it and use it to destroy walls and other items around your base. At first, you won’t know how to craft one so you will have to learn this recipe first, as with most things. The following will be a full guide from start to finish on how to destroy things once they are built.
Researching the Technology to Destroy Objects and Crafting
Once of the first things you learn to do in Cryofall is construction. With this technology tree you will learn how to build walls and other objects in your base. But what happens when you aren’t happy with where you’ve placed everything? Luckily for you, eventually you can learn how to destroy walls again. In the first tier on the industry section you will find the crowbar. Keep in mind that before you can learnt to craft a crowbar you will have to learn the technology that comes before it. Press the G key to open up the technologies screen and head to tier 1 Industry to learn crowbar.
Whilst this is all of the technology you will need in order to craft yourself a crowbar, you will also need to build a workbench. The crowbar can only be craft at the workbench, not your personal crafting menu. Keep that in mind if you can’t find the recipe. You will need 3 iron ingots in order to craft a crowbar.
Crafting a Crowbar
Now that you’ve researched all you need you are ready to craft your own crowbar. You’ll need to mine and smelt down iron for the crowbar. You will need 3 iron ingots for the crowbar which means you will need to mine 15 iron ore. Once you have these items you can head over to the workbench to put together your first tool of destruction. Press the recipes and look for the crowbar icon as you can see in the image below.
One you have crafted the crowbar it will appear in your character’s inventory. You can equip the crowbar by dragging the items down to one of your numbered quickbar slots at the bottom of the inventory menu. Once the crowbar is in one of the numbered slots you can equip it by pressing the corresponding number or by left-clicking the crowbar.. You will see your character now has it in their hands.
How to Break Down Walls and Items with the Crowbar
Now with the crowbar equipped you are ready to destroy in Cryofall! Walk over to the item you want to destroy and you should see a little tooltip pop up on it. This will tell you to use the left-mouse button to destroy. You will have to destroy walls in stages just like how your built them to begin with. Keep in mind that you will not get all of the resources back that you spent on building the wall. When I destroyed a wall using the crowbar I was refunded 2 wood planks. They costs 10 wood planks to create.
Once a wall or item is destroyed it cannot be brought back. You will have to build it back up again from scratch. Be very careful not to destroy any items or structures that require rare materials. If you simply want to move one of the benches or items in your base, equip the toolbox and use the relocate feature by left-clicking the item. You can move most items around after they are built.
