How to Catch a Tuna in Stardew Valley

Location:

The Tuna can only be caught on one location on the main island of Stardew Valley. This is in the ocean. You can access the ocean part of the map by going to the main town and going south. It doesn’t matter which part of the ocean you are fishing it, it’s all the same!

Another location that tuna can be caught is on Ginger Island. This area can only be accessed after repairing Willy’s boat. On Ginger Island any fish can be caught at any time of the year regardless of season.

Season:

Tuna can only be caught during two seasons of the year at the ocean. These are Winter and Summer. Make sure you get in and try to catch one as soon as possible as you don’t want to have to wait an entire month to have a shot at catching one again! Especially if you’re wanting to complete all the community center bundles as quick as possible.

Time of Day/Weather:

The Tuna can be caught during the whole day. Basically any time that it is still light outside. The official hours that you can catch a Tuna are between 6am and 7pm.

For the weather, it doesn’t matter at all! Tuna will come out to catch some tasty bait on your rod regardless of the weather outside. Be it sun or rain, you can always catch a tuna during the day at the ocean in Summer or Winter.

How to Purchase Tuna

Tuna, like all other regular fish, can be purchased rather than caught. You can visit the travelling cart in Cindersap Forest to see if one is for sale. This shop has a random rotating inventory so you will possibly have to come back multiple time to see if there’s a Tuna for sale there. This is a great way to get fish outside of their normal seasons, however.
