There’s nothing better than coming up against an army even larger than your and coming out on top in Mount and Blade: Bannerlord. Being apart of the battle down with the troops is one of my favorite things about the game. I’m not just some commander sending them to their inevitable deaths. So when we are victorious, it’s only natural to want to cheer with our soldiers when we defeat the enemy right? Cheering is something that wasn’t originally apart of Bannerlord’s early access but has since been added in.
How to Cheer/Celebrate in Bannerlord
To celebrate with your troops in Bannerlord you will need to hold the ‘O’ key by default. This will open up a menu which has 4 different numbers. By moving your mouse over one of these and releasing the O key you will have your character cheer. The four numbers are the 4 different types of cheers that you can use.
Cheering doesn’t actually do anything in the game at all. There isn’t any morale boost or anything at all associated with cheering. It is simply put in the game for role-play purposes or just for the aesthetic of being able to celebrate with your companions at the end of a well-earned victory.
Cheering On Horse?
All of the 4 cheer animations are also available to those on horseback as well. There is no reason to jump off your horse every time you want to celebrate or rally your companions. The same way you can bring up the menu with the O key on foot, you can do on the horse as well. There is a secondary action that can be performed on the horse as well though. In this action you can bring your mount’s two front legs into the air which is also known as Rearing. See the picture below if you don’t know what I mean.
To perform a rear on your mount first you will have to come to a complete stop. You cannot rear while the mount is in motion. To rear your horse/camel press the Spacebar key. This key is also shared with the jump action. You can rear any horse regardless of your riding skill. Like the cheer there is no benefit to performing this action. This is purely aesthetic.
