Necesse Bed Uses
No house is complete without a good bed. This is also true in Necesse. One of the most important furniture pieces you can craft in the game is the bed. To have your character use the bed, place it down and use the right-mouse button on it. They will then lie down in it.
The bed has actually a lot of different uses in the game. The main three are this:
You will find yourself needing to do all of these things if you are playing Necesse for a while. Beds can also be used by settlers in your Settlements in order to heal their wounds too.
Beds can be used by any player in multiplayer and the only way you can skip time in multiplayer is by making sure all players are sleeping in beds at the same time.
Healing in the Bed
One of the key reasons to build the bed is a place to come back to heal your wounds. Necesse is a dangerous place and the quicker you can get back into fighting shape, the quicker you can go out and explore the world some more! Seriously, crafting potions to heal all the time will become a pain. The bed is a free way to heal your character back up to their fighting best!
Set Your Spawn
Not only will you be sleeping here to heal your wounds. The bed is also the location that your character will respawn upon dying in the world. The bed is integral to you actually progressing in the game, otherwise you will just keep respawning on the first island where you started your adventure.
Every time you sleep in a new bed your spawn location will change so be sure to only sleep out in the wild with this information in your head.
Skipping Time By Sleeping
The last great usage for the bed is a means to skip time. Are you sick of fighting off endless waves of zombies during the night in your settlement? Maybe you don’t have any torches left and are in dire need of a light source.
The good news is that when you lie down in the bed time will move rather fast in the world of Necesse. You will be able to skip through to the day or night time as you wish. Just stay sleeping for a little while and you will see the time start to pass rapidly. When you have reached your preferred time, press the button to wake up. Easy!
How to Craft a Bed in Necesse
At the beginning of the game, you will start next to a small house and an NPC. This small shack will already have a bed inside it. You can pick up this bed and take it with you by hitting it with a tool. (Preferably an axe). This will allow you to pick it up and you won’t have to craft an initial bed. Otherwise, follow on.
Crafting a bed in Necesse is rather easy. To craft a bed you will first need to build a Carpenter’s Bench. These can be built with 10 logs and 5 iron bars a a Workstation. Now that you have a Carpenter’s Bench, you can create a bed there using the following items:
- 10 Wood Logs
- 10 Wool
There are two types of bed available early on in the game, the spruce bed and the oak bed. Which you can create depends on the type of 10 wood logs you are using. There is no difference between the two types of bed other than the way they look. They both function in the exact same way. It just depends on your taste which one to create.
Once you have this crafted, you can place a bed down by selecting it within your inventory and using the left mouse button in the location you wish to place it. Beds can also be used by settlers to heal their wounds. It isn’t just the player that can benefit from beds!
