In Necesse there is a huge amount of items and materials to craft with. Part of this crafting system is the ability to cook delicious meals and craft potions. One of the ingredients that you are able to craft with in the game is milk.
Much like the real life version of milk, you will get this from cows in the game. This article will show you how to get milk and some of the things you are able to craft using milk.
How to Get Milk in Necesse
The game doesn’t tell you exactly how to get many of the items. This includes milk as well. To get milk in Necesse you will have to use a tool called a Bucket on one of the cows roaming around.
Simply equip the bucket by moving it to one of the free slots in your quickbar and then holding it in your hands. Now, move to a cow and use the right-mouse button to extract milk from them. The milk will land on the ground and you will be able to pick it up and add it to your inventory.
Cows cannot be constantly milked. There will be a cooldown after you obtain milk from a cow before you are able to milk them again. It is recommended to herd some cows into a farm in order to have a reliable source of milk.
You will get one unit of milk per cow that you are using the bucket on. You can roam around the entire island that you are on and milk cows freely. They do not have to be a part of your settlement. To see if a cow is ready to produce milk you can equip the bucket and hover your mouse over them. If there is no option to milk then they are still in the process of producing it.
If you do not have a bucket then there is no way that you can collect milk in Necesse. The next section will show you how to create and use the bucket.
How to Craft a Bucket for Milk in Necesse
Before you can start milking cows you will need a bucket. The bucket is a tool that is crafted at the Anvil crafting station. There is only one single version of the Bucket so don’t pin your hopes on a golden bucket anytime soon.
First craft the Anvil station at the Workstation. Now, interact with the anvil by moving towards it and use the right-mouse button. The bucket can be crafted by using 3 iron bars meaning it really isn’t that hard to craft.
The bucket will never break down or have to be replaced so there isn’t really any reason to make more than one. That is, unless you have multiple settlements and want to keep one at each settlement.
What is Milk Good For?
Milk has a variety of uses in Necesse. You can consume it directly as a source of food if you wish. One of the best things you can do with milk is to turn it into cheese. Cheese and milk can both be used in multiple different cooking recipes in the Cooking Pot. Cheese can be sold to traders for a good amount of coins.
