How to Craft Armor in Cryofall

Your first few nights are going to be pretty dangerous ones in Cryofall. Apart from the fact that you won’t know at all what you are doing, you’ll find there are things in the world that want to hurt you. Luckily, the player can craft and equip different types of armor to their character to protect them better. Armor, is something that can protect against enemy attacks. This will also protect you from the elements and offer warmth.


How to Craft Your First Armor in Cryofall

In order to craft anything in Cryofall you are going to have to learn how to do it first. In order to unlock new recipes, go to the Technologies tab. You can get here easily by pressing the G key. Alternatively, you could just press the button at the top of the UI. Now, head over to the tab which reads Defense. Here, you will learn how to craft your first set of armor.

To learn these you will need learning points. You will get there through doing the tutorial missions and by performing actions throughout the world such as attacking the local fauna. Once you have enough, learn the cloth armor and the rope before it. You will also have to learn how to build the workbench in the Industry tab.

Once you have learnt all of these crafting recipes, you have unlocked the ability to craft cloth armor. Now, you will have to go and collect some fiber from the ground. This can be collected from the small green plants in the forest, or from the sugar canes on the beach. You will need 9 fiber for each piece.

Putting It All Together

Once you have collected 18 fiber come back to your base. Make sure you have a workbench built as that is where you will have to put the armor together. Craft thread by selecting it from the crating menu in the workbench. (You have to right-click the workbench to access it.) Once you have 6 units of thread you can create a cloth hat and shirt! Select the cloth shirt and hat from the workbench crafting menu and select the crafting button. Now all you have to do is wait!

Once you have crafted the armors, they should be available in your player’s inventory. Cloth armor is the most basic of all of the armor types. Don’t be too surprised if it breaks easily and doesn’t offer too much protection. To equip the armor, head to your inventory. you can get here easily using the TAB key. Once you are there, find the cloth armor and drag it to your character’s body armor slot. You will see it is the only one that isn’t highlighted red on your character. Now, do the same with the hat but obviously put it on the head armor slot. Voila! Your character is all suited up for battle! Well, a small battle maybe…

How to Unlock Better Armor in Cryofall

I’m sure that the cloth armor won’t be enough for you. luckily, there are many different types of armor in Cryofall with their own strengths and weaknesses. The way to unlock new and advanced armors is the same way that you unlocked the cloth armor. Through the technologies tab. You may have already noticed a couple of different armor types in the same menu as the cloth armor. Here you can find the bone armor set and the braided armor. For these advanced types, you will need another type of workbench known as the armor workbench. This is unlocked automatically when you learn either of these two armor types. Build one using the toolbox and you’ll be able to craft advanced armors.

Keep in mind that the more advanced the armor is, the better materials you’ll need. For this, you’ll probably need to learn other recipes. For example for more advanced armors that you’ll need metal for, you’ll obviously have to work your way up the industry tech tree to get the metal. But your time generally pays off here as the armor will get better and better as you go on.
