How to Get Copper in Cryofall

Unless you want to spend your days in Cryofall living in the stone age, you’ll have to get copper at some stage. Copper is a rather soft metal, mostly used in electronics. It is one of the first metals that you can find and use in Cryofall. But how do you get copper? Follow this guide to becoming a copper mining master!


How to Get Copper in Cryofall

To get copper in Cryofall you must mine and process copper ore. You can mine copper ore from the surface of Cryofall. Once you have the copper ore you can use the furnace to process this ore into usable ingots. That is how you get copper in Cryofall. You can read further onto this guide to find out where you can find copper ore and how you can mine and process this.

Mining Copper Ore

In order to actually get copper ore to begin with you are going to have to mine some copper ore. If you look at the image above you can see what a copper ore deposit actually looks like. First, you ill need to craft yourself a pickaxe of any quality. You can even use a stone pickaxe to mine copper ore. Whilst there are copper ores randomly found throughout biomes such as the boreal forest, you’ll have more luck looking at rocky mountains. Rocky mountains are the small greyish areas on the map which have a lot of rocks around. Find the nearest one of these rocky mountain areas to your base and search for a copper node there.

You can see an example of rocky mountains on the map in the image above. You’ll notice they are generally smaller areas that are apart of a biome. If you want to find the nearest rocky mountains area to your base you can use this page with a full explored map area.

Once you have found this just lock for a copper rock like the one in the image at the top. Equip a pickaxe to your character and then hold down the left mouse button on a rock deposit to mine it. You will see the rock start to take damage and copper ore come to your inventory at the bottom left of the screen. The copper ore will enter your inventory.

Process the Copper Ore into Copper Ingots

Once you have gotten some copper ore it’s time to melt it down! First, you’ll have to research the furnace. Press the G key to open up the technologies panel. Here, you will learn how to construct and craft new things. Head to the tier 1 area and select Industry. You will see the second item on the list is the furnace. Once you have learnt how to build the furnace you can start creating copper ingots. Like all items you’ll need a toolbox in order to build the furnace. Luckily the only material you need to craft a furnace is some stone. 120 stone to be exact. Build yourself a furnace by equipping a toolbox to your quickbar and pressing the B key. You will find the Furnace under Industry.

Once you’ve built a furnace it’s time to melt down some copper! Select the Recipes button and choose the recipe for the Copper ingot. This will also show you how much copper ore you need. For each 5 copper ore you have, you can create 1 copper ingot. Select the recipe then drag all of your copper ore into the Input are of the furnace. Once you have moved some type of fuel into the furnace the copper ingots will be created automatically. You can use any type of fuel to craft copper ingots.


Crafting With Copper in Cryofall

There are many different things that area created using copper. Even though it is included in a lot of the first crafting objects, you will need it for the entire game. Copper is one of the core resources in electrical items. As in real life, copper is a conductor. You will need copper to create electrical wire in Cryofall which you will need a lot of if you plan on using electricity. Copper is one of the most versatile materials in the game. You will need copper for building, weapons, armors, materials and many different things.

Try to get as much copper as you can early on. As you can see there are so many things that you will need it for in your base. Even creating your first oil lamp! you would imagine that as you move onto greater technologies you’ll stop using the early materials. Copper is one of the materials that you’ll need for the entire game all the way to the end of your technologies.
