Players planning to farm in Cryofall rejoice! Today I am going to show you the way to get seeds in the game. There are some things that really aren’t explained well in the game. Gathering seeds in order to start a farm is one of them. Keep reading to find out more.

How to Find Seeds
There are two ways that you can find seeds in Cryofall; by foraging them out of the ground in the forest and by finding them as loot in ruins. Depending on where you look you will find different types of seeds. We will go over both of these methods below into detail and show you what types of seeds you can expect to find using both of these methods.
How to Get Seeds From Foraging
Perhaps the easiest way to get seeds in Cryofall is by foraging them straight from the ground. You can get seeds without any kind of fools or anything in the game. All you will need is a little bit of patience. Research the farming skills in which you can get seeds. This will help later on. All you need to do is find yourself in a forest biome. Any of the forests will be fine. We are looking on the ground for the small green tufts of grass. When you pick them up you will get a small amount of fiber. See the image below for an idea of the ones we are looking out for.
The idea here is to just go around picking these up. Occasionally when you pick up these small grass plants you will get a random seed which you will be able to plant. There isn’t any rhyme of rhythm to getting seeds this way. You will just randomly acquire seeds as you pull grass out. Obviously, the more you pull out, the better your chance of getting seeds. There are certain seeds that are acquired using this method and certain seeds that you will get using the second method.
With foraging you will be able to get the following seeds:
- Bell Pepper Seeds
- Carrot Seeds
- Corn Seeds
- Cucumber Seeds
- Tomato Seeds
Loot Seeds at the Ruins
The next way that you can get seeds in Cryofall is by looting them from specific areas on the map. You might have already seen some destroyed buildings in your travels. These small areas are called ruins. Some of these ruins can be dangerous. There will often be strong creatures or even radiation here. But, no risk no reward! If you explore these ruins you will come across a some small wooden chests. See the image below for an idea of what you’re looking for. If you do see one of these crates, approach it and press the right mouse button. You character will open the crate and you can loot the contents.
Getting seeds from the ruins is also not guaranteed. As all loot is randomized you may not get seeds the first ruins you come across. That being said seeds are fairly common loot for ruins. You probably have a better chance exploring ruins to get seeds than you do picking up grass. If you want to see where you can find the nearest ruins to you, you can check this page. How to Craft Seeds in Cryofall
There is another way that you can get seeds in Cryofall. Although this method requires you to have the plants already. I figured I would put it at the end anyway. For those that don’t know, once you grow a crop you can use that crop to create more seeds. Once you research the correct plants, you can make more seeds at the farming workbench. Once you have some of the crops and some sand you can duplicate these into more seeds. Basically once you get a packet of seeds you can always duplicate them.
Make sure you always hold onto a couple of each crop. If you consume all of one crop, you’ll have to go out searching for more seeds. By being careful with your inventory, or always crafting seeds with the first harvest, you can create a never-ending supply of crops and seeds. That is providing you can find some seeds to begin with.
